Short description

We are planning the construction of a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant with an output of approx. 35 MWp in the municipality of Kassow OT Werle within a 110 m strip along the railroad line. In addition, we plan to expand the area to be used in a 2nd step via a deviating process in order to reach an economically promising plant size. The approx. 36,050 million KWh of clean solar power produced annually by the final expansion stage of this solar park, with which approx. 9,000 four-person households could be supplied, is to be used largely to supply the energy required by a dedicated bio-methanol plant at the Laage site.

The surplus electricity will be fed into the 110 KV WEMAG distribution network east of Bützow. The investment creates new industrial jobs in the region and strengthens the business location in the Rostock-Laage industrial area.

The community commercial revenues increase its financial strength and create additional financial leeway for planning in the long term. In addition, with §6 EEG 2021 (the 2021 Renewable Energies Act) which came into force on 1st August 2021, the legislature has created the opportunity for communities to take part in the income generated by solar parks at a rate of up to 0.2ct per kilowatt hour, comparable to the existing law for wind power plants.

The proposal is still subject to approval by the EU Commission under state aid law, but should take effect by the end of 2021 at the latest. For the planned plant, this means additional revenue for the municipality of Kassow of at least 40,000 euros per year.

To secure the land, we have concluded long-term leases with the landowners and negotiated the partial purchase of the property. We have also made Kassow a lucrative offer to lease land owned by the municipality in the project area.

An urban development contract will be concluded with the municipality, which will exclude the municipality from any planning costs. The planned solar park constitutes a building block of our renewable energy cluster in Rostock-Laage, along with other solar parks in the communities of Wiendorf and Dolgen am See.
